Dumping ground of cool (Kalamehe street)
No tourist map shows this part of town, where Pärnu’s manufacturing past
has been abandoned – the prison, a hospital, brewery, bread factory and other
testaments to industries gone. There used to be a synagogue too. The area is
significant emotionally and culturally. It carries the air of an historic suburb
and repays a wander round the streets.
